We reproduce the dizziness on purpose, briefly.
You were told to wait it out and hope. Vertigo is a treatable problem, not a waiting problem. Two certified vestibular specialists on staff, one of them at the advanced level.
What It Is
Your inner ear tells your brain which way is up. Scramble that signal with dislodged crystals, an inner ear infection, a migraine, or a concussion, and the room moves every time you do. The advice you usually get is to take something for the nausea and wait for it to pass.
Vestibular rehabilitation does the opposite of waiting. It retrains the system instead of muting it. Repositioning maneuvers move the crystals in BPPV back where they belong. Gaze stabilization teaches your eyes to hold a target while your head turns. Graded exposure takes the triggers that set you off and makes your brain stop overreacting to them. Balance and gait work rebuilds what you lost on stairs and curbs.
Who does it matters here. Dr. Laura Plummer, PT, DPT, is a Certified Vestibular/Vertigo Specialist II, which is the advanced level of that credential. Lara McCrary, PT, MPT, is a Certified Vestibular/Vertigo Specialist. Two of them, in one Richardson clinic.

What It Helps
If the room moves when you do, that is treatable, and you were probably told to wait it out.
What A Session Looks Like

We reproduce the dizziness on purpose, briefly.
2
We treat the system that caused it.
3
You leave settled, with a dose you can handle.
Why It Works
Rolling over in bed without the room spinning.
Looking up at a shelf without grabbing the cart.
Driving again, because head turns are fine.
Stepping off a curb without doing the math.

Questions, Answered
Some episodes do fade, and waiting is still a gamble with your balance. Dizziness that hangs around teaches you to move less, and moving less makes the balance system worse, which is how a rough couple of weeks quietly turns into a fall risk and a smaller life. If what you have is BPPV, repositioning is straightforward and there’s very little reason to sit with it. Get it looked at and you’ll at least know which kind you’re dealing with.
Some of what we do briefly provokes your symptoms on purpose, because that is how the brain learns to stop overreacting, and we tell you that before we start rather than after. We dose it so things settle before you leave, we back off on a bad day, and nothing gets progressed until the step before it feels manageable. Bring someone to drive you the first time if that helps you relax.
