Spinal manipulation in Richardson.

Your back locks up, you get adjusted, and by Thursday it’s back. We free the joint that’s actually restricted, then rebuild what let it seize in the first place.

Locked-up back Neck that won’t turn Talk to a Specialist

What It Is

One stuck joint. One precise input.

Your spine is a stack of joints that are supposed to glide. Years at a desk, an old fall, a whiplash, or plain wear can leave one segment moving less than the ones above and below it. The rest of your back covers for it, and that’s usually where you feel the ache.

Spinal manipulation is a fast, controlled, small movement delivered to that one restricted segment. It restores motion at the joint and quiets the muscle guarding wrapped around it. Some people hear a pop. That pop is gas releasing inside the joint capsule, not a bone going back into place.

So is this chiropractic? It’s the same family of technique, and plenty of chiropractors do it well. The difference here is what surrounds it. Manipulation is one tool inside a rehab plan built from your cause-first evaluation, so the visit that frees the segment also loads it. You’re not buying a standing adjustment. You’re getting a plan with an endpoint.

Questions, Answered

Adjustments, no mystery.

The technique overlaps, and plenty of chiropractors do it well. The honest difference is context. Physical therapists are trained in manipulation as one tool inside a rehab plan, so the same visit that frees the joint also includes the strength and movement work that keeps it free. That is why we don’t sell manipulation on its own, and why you should be working toward an endpoint rather than a standing appointment.

That sound is gas releasing inside the joint capsule, not a bone snapping back into place, and it is not the goal of the treatment. You get screened first, you hear exactly what we’re about to do before we do it, and if manipulation isn’t appropriate for you or you’d simply rather not, we use gentler joint mobilization and arrive at the same place more gradually. Nothing happens without your yes.

That depends on why the segment locked up in the first place. On its own, manipulation tends to be temporary, which is exactly what you’ve already experienced if you’ve been getting adjusted for years. Pair it with corrective work that changes the load going through that part of your spine and the result holds, because you fixed the cause and not just the symptom.
