FAQ

FAQ.

The questions people ask us on the phone before their first visit, answered straight. Referrals, insurance, what a session involves, and what to bring.

Ask everything before you commit.

Nobody should start physical therapy while still guessing at how it works.

You have been handling this on your own for a while, and checking the details first is exactly how you got this far. So these are the questions people actually ask us on the phone, answered the way we would answer them on the phone. Open the ones that apply to you and ignore the rest.

Still not sure?

If your question is not in the list below, ask it directly. Call (972) 526-5693, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, or use the booking form at the bottom of this page and put the question in your own words.

We will give you a straight answer whether or not you end up booking. If you would rather just get started, request an appointment and we will handle the rest, including verifying your insurance benefits before your first visit.

Questions, Answered

Everything you’re wondering before you book.

Straight answers: no medical jargon, no runaround.

Not to get started. Texas Direct Access lets you see a licensed physical therapist for up to 30 days without a physician’s referral, which means you can begin the week you call. Care beyond 30 days needs a referral, and if your insurance wants paperwork from a physician we’ll chase it down so it doesn’t hold up your treatment.

It depends on your plan, so we check before you start rather than after. We accept Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, and United Healthcare, and we’ll verify your specific benefits before your first visit so you know where you stand. Call us and we can look yours up on the phone.

Wear comfortable, loose clothing you can actually move in. Shorts are best if we’re treating a knee or hip, and a tank top or loose tee helps for a shoulder or neck. Bring anything you already have on your history too: x-rays, ultrasounds, and your doctor’s notes.

Sessions typically run 30 to 60 minutes depending on your condition and what we’re treating that day. How many you need depends on you, but a common course is two to three visits a week for at least four to six weeks. You’ll leave the evaluation with a phase-based plan that has an endpoint, not an open-ended string of appointments.

It’s brief and localized: most people feel a quick twitch, then a wave of relief in that muscle. And it’s always optional; we’ll never spring it on you without explaining it first.

No. Every visit is one-on-one, hands-on care with a licensed physical therapist, never a tech handing you a printout. Your exercises are dosed specifically for you and progressed live as you improve.

That’s a fair question, and it’s usually the model, not you. A lot of clinics rotate you through techs and hand you generic sheets. Here, you get one-on-one time with the same therapist every single visit, a cause-first evaluation instead of a cookie-cutter protocol, and a phase-based plan with clear graduation criteria, so you always know why you’re doing what you’re doing, and when you’re done.
