A little gel, a handheld probe on the sore area.
You’ve been told it’s probably nothing for long enough. We image the tissue here, in real time, while you move it, so your plan targets what is actually wrong instead of a good guess.
What It Is
Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to show muscles, tendons, ligaments, bursae, and nerves under the skin. Live, on a screen, while you are in the room. No radiation, no enclosed machine, no waiting on a report to land in a portal.
The part that matters most is that it moves with you. We can image the tissue while you load it, which is how a problem that only shows up under motion finally gets caught. Most physical therapy clinics don’t have this in the building. That is the difference between a plan aimed at the actual tissue and a plan aimed at an educated guess.
It doesn’t replace an MRI, and it won’t answer every question about every injury. What it does is sharpen the reasoning behind your care: it confirms what your evaluation suggested, rules things out, and turns the findings into a plan the same day, one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit.
Real time, no radiation
What It Helps
When you want to see what is happening inside the joint instead of guessing at it.
What A Session Looks Like
1
A little gel, a handheld probe on the sore area.
2
We image it at rest, then while you move it.
3
You see the findings and they go into your plan.
Why It Works
Clarity instead of one more maybe.
A plan aimed at the actual tissue.
No radiation, no tunnel, no contrast dye.
Findings explained today, not mailed later.
Pairs Well With
Questions, Answered
No. MRI answers questions ultrasound can’t, and there are findings it will pick up that we won’t. What ultrasound does better is show soft tissue working under load, right here, with the results explained to you while you are still in the room. If your case needs an MRI, we will tell you that instead of stretching this tool past what it does well.
It doesn’t hurt. Gel on the skin and a small handheld probe, that is the whole thing. There’s no radiation, no contrast dye, and no enclosed machine to lie inside, which is also why it can be repeated as often as your care actually needs it.
Coverage varies by plan, so we check before you start rather than after. We accept Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, and United Healthcare. Call us and we’ll verify your specific plan before your first visit: (972) 526-5693.
